TPA Portable Roadways is one of Europe’s largest suppliers of temporary access solutions. Operating from bases in the UK and Germany, TPA provides equipment rental and installation of portable roadways, walkways and stairways, to customers in the transmission, construction, rail and outdoor events markets.
TPA Rapid Rail Access is firmly established in the rail sector as the principle provider of safe, effective, value for money access systems. Providing nationwide hire of specialist temporary access equipment designed, approved and dedicated for use in the rail sector.
Strong growth in demand for TPA, a leading European supplier of temporary access solutions, has been marked with a £4 million investment in new products, vehicles and the expansion of its operations in Scotland.
Part of the Vp plc group, TPA offers an extensive range of portable roadways, walkways and ground protection, plus modular pontoons and rail access products via its three operating divisions – TPA Portable Roadways, TPA Pontoons and TPA Rapid Rail Access.
Some £3 million of the investment has been made in new rental stock, primarily heavy-duty aluminium panels which the company uses to engineer access solutions for its growing customer base.
The company has also taken delivery of six new Scania installation vehicles fitted with remotely operated Epsilon Z cranes complete with a new bespoke panel grab system. The £1 million addition to the vehicle fleet is part of a cycle of investment which ensures that TPAs expert installation teams operate with the best equipment available.
With a particularly impressive track record of supplying equipment to major electricity transmission projects in Scotland, and to support its growing construction customer base in this region, a further £250,000 has gone into expanding the existing TPA Portable Roadways depot in Lesmahagow. The site has been upgraded with new offices, refurbishment of its workshop and the concreting of large areas of the site.
They have also appointed former field sales engineer Oliver Dennis as the new regional manager for Scotland and added a new hire desk controller. Oliver, who started with the division as a driver’s mate and progressed through the business, brings with him a wealth of experience to spearhead the company’s development in the region.
David Walkden, TPA Portable Roadways director, commented: “Following a restructure within the division the business delivered improving results which have been the catalyst for this £4 million investment. This is a very exciting time for our portable roadways business and we are confident the investment will further reinforce our reputation for delivering first class temporary access solutions to our customers.”
